Gas prices rose while diesel prices fell in Nova Scotia overnight. Regular self-serve gasoline rose by 2.6 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price at 139.9 cents per litre. Diesel prices fell by 3.6 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price at 184.7 cents per litre in the local area.
A new player aiming to compete with Nova Scotia Power is getting a major federal boost.
The Canada Infrastructure Bank is providing a $206 million loan to help Renewall Energy build its first wind project, the 150-megawatt Mersey River Wind farm in Queens County.
Renewall says the project will offer customers more choice and rate stability, aiming to start taking customers in early 2027. The company says about half the project’s output is already under contract.
