Police say two youths — one in Nova Scotia and one from Manitoba — were allegedly planning simultaneous attacks at their local schools. Police in Bridgewater say they received information on Friday from Interpol and the F-B-I that a 15-year-old from the town and a Manitoba youth were talking online about attacking students at two schools. They say the attack was not believed to be imminent, but that some thought and planning went into the idea. Officers searched a Bridgewater home and found handwritten plans, imitation weapons, a roughly made imitation pipe bomb and an assault rifle, as well as clothing with hate symbols. The youth was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, uttering threats, and police say they are investigating whether charges relating to hate crimes and other offences can be laid.
