U16 Men’s Keltics picked up a big win in Rugby, they beat Newfoundland to win the Atlantic Championship.
Local Baseball:
The New Glasgow Sullivan Fuels Bantam AA Baseball team swept three exhibition games vs the Cape Breton Sooners this past weekend in New Glasgow.
Friday night, the Fuel defeated the Sooners 3-2. In game one on Saturday, New Glasgow again came out on top by a 3-2 score. In the finale, New Glasgow’s offense exploded scoring for ten runs winning 10-0 in five innings.
Hockey Nova Scotia:
The Hockey Nova Scotia all-female summer officiating camp led by an all-female officiating team wrapped up yesterday, best of luck to all new and returning officials who will be patrolling minor hockey rinks in the province this coming year.
Tennis:
In Women’s singles, Simona Halep beat Serena Williams 6-2 / 6-2 to win her first Wimbledon Championship.
At the Men’s final, a very rare tiebreaker was needed but Novak Djokovich came out with the win over Roger Federer.
MLB:
In baseball, The Yankees scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning and they would never look back, doubling the Jays 4-2.
CFL:
Week 5 is in the books in the CFL.
The Ti-Cats defeated the B.C Lions 30-23.
The Alouettes hammered the Red Blacks 36-19
The Blue Bombers beat Toronto 48-21
